
Volunteer Position: Audio/Video Editor

About the Role
The Audio/Video Editor is an essential creative force behind Philosophical Entertainment—the heart of how our message is heard and seen. You’ll help transform raw podcast conversations into immersive, resonant experiences that reflect the beauty of consciousness, philosophy, and human connection.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys storytelling through sound and visuals, and who finds joy in bringing clarity, rhythm, and emotion to each episode. You’ll collaborate closely with the production team to edit audio and video content for podcast distribution, YouTube, and social media, ensuring a cohesive and elevated final product.
Responsibilities
- Edit and Master Audio: Clean, balance, and enhance raw recordings using Descript or other audio tools to ensure clarity and a professional soundscape.
- Edit Video Episodes: Sync video and audio, add intros/outros, transitions, captions, and basic visual elements for YouTube and social platforms.
- Create Highlight Clips: Cut and format short reels or promo clips from full episodes for use on Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts.
- Maintain File Organization: Manage project files, exports, and uploads to the Philosophical Entertainment media server or shared drives.
- Collaborate with the Team: Work closely with the host and social media coordinator to align the visual and auditory storytelling with current themes and releases.
- Contribute Creatively: Suggest new ways to use sound and visuals to deepen emotional impact and engagement with listeners.
Qualifications
- Proficiency with Descript, Audacity, Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or similar editing software.
- Understanding of basic audio leveling, EQ, noise reduction, and video formatting for social media platforms.
- Strong creative instincts and attention to pacing, tone, and mood in storytelling.
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and maintain clear communication with the team.
- A passion for mindfulness, philosophy, or conscious media is a plus.
Time Commitment
Approximately 10–15 hours per week, depending on your pacing and episode schedule. The role is fully remote and offers flexible hours. We believe in working at a rhythm that supports balance and creativity.
