Community Care & Non-Discrimination Agreement
This page outlines the community expectations for everyone participating in, volunteering with, or collaborating on Philosophical Entertainment projects. Our work is about awakening and connection, so our container must be safe, inclusive, and respectful.
1. Purpose
Philosophical Entertainment is a conscious media project dedicated to exploring philosophy, spirituality, and the interconnectedness of all things. Because we welcome people from diverse paths, we ask every volunteer, guest, and collaborator to agree to a basic standard of care, respect, and non-discrimination.
2. Community Care Principles
Community care means we show up for one another with kindness, clarity, and accountability. By participating, you agree to:
- Communicate with respect, even when there is disagreement.
- Honor other people’s stories, identities, and lived experiences.
- Maintain confidentiality when sensitive topics are discussed.
- Use language that is non-shaming and non-harmful.
- Give and receive feedback in a compassionate way.
3. Non-Discrimination Policy
Philosophical Entertainment does not tolerate discrimination or harassment of any kind.
We welcome participation regardless of:
- Race, color, or ethnicity
- National origin or immigration status
- Sex, gender identity, or gender expression
- Sexual orientation
- Religion or spiritual path (including none)
- Age
- Disability or neurodivergence
- Marital, family, or veteran status
Any conduct that demeans, marginalizes, or harms another person based on these characteristics is contrary to our values and may result in removal from the project or volunteer role.
4. Harassment-Free Environment
We are committed to a harassment-free environment. Harassment includes (but is not limited to):
- Unwelcome comments about a person’s body, identity, or beliefs
- Sexual or suggestive remarks in a professional/volunteer context
- Intimidation, bullying, or repeated unwanted contact
- Sharing private information without consent
If someone tells you a behavior is unwelcome, you are expected to stop immediately.
5. Accessibility & Inclusion
We aim to make our volunteer opportunities accessible. If you need an adjustment to participate (different meeting times, captions on video, written instructions), please let us know. We will make reasonable efforts to accommodate.
6. Digital Conduct
Because much of our work is remote, we ask that all digital spaces (Zoom, email, shared drives, social media) be treated as shared sacred spaces. Please:
- Use professional and compassionate language.
- Do not share internal documents or media without permission.
- Credit the project and team members when sharing public content.
7. Reporting Concerns
If at any time you experience or witness behavior that violates this agreement, please contact us at team@philosophicalentertainment.com. We will review the concern, follow up as appropriate, and may remove individuals from projects if needed to protect the community.
8. Your Agreement
By submitting a volunteer application or collaborating with Philosophical Entertainment, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to this Community Care & Non-Discrimination Agreement and will uphold these standards in all project-related spaces.
